Objectives;

a) To encourage and assist all people in Australia who are of Arabic and in particular Lebanese speaking ancestry to become integrated in Australian society and to foster and encourage social relationships and good fellowship between them and Australian Citizens.

b) To foster and encourage amongst all people in Australia of Arabic and in particular Lebanese speaking ancestry intellectual and social pursuits and to assist them in adjusting themselves to the conditions of society in Australia.

c) To inspire and train by precept and example all people in Australia of Arabic and in particular Lebanese speaking ancestry in the qualities and elements of leadership and according to the highest social ideals and aims and to enable them to mutually support each other in their participation in civic, educational, social, charitable, cultural, professional and sportive opportunities and pursuits.

d) Encouraging the participation of all people in Australia of Lebanese ancestry in the economic, cultural, tourist and social activities in Lebanon and abroad, as well as the movement of capital and labour between Lebanon and Australia.

e) To assist in the relief of poverty amongst people in Australia of Lebanese ancestry and now resident in Australia.

f) To provide information services and bureaus for the assistance of members, and to promote and advance social, literacy, sporting and athletic activities.

Today, the ALA is looking to facilitate a more community-focused approach and is committed to improving community relations, with a particular emphasis on the youth groups. We are confident that the reorganisation of the ALA’s committee will help to build a solid partnership between both governments and our community and will help us to achieve our policy aim of continuously improving and applying the principles for a multicultural community. Each member of the committee brings a wealth of practical experience to the ALA, and we are confident that each will play a significant role in helping to both maintain and improve our vision of a united, healthier and more harmonious community.
